“And you shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it; and you shall hallow it and all its utensils, and it shall be holy.” Exodus 40:9
 
Anointing oil has been used for years as a symbolic representation of our faith in Jesus Christ. The Lord has given us a powerful weapon of warfare in the use of the anointing oil. Not only can we use it to anoint people, but scripture shows us that we can use it to anoint homes and objects as well as a means of cleansing and setting apart. In today's terms, anointing oil is simply olive oil that has been prayed over and sanctified by the Spirit of God. This one is infused with cassia, coriander, balsam, benzoin, almond oil, frankincense, myrrh, and a hint of lemongrass.
 
Israelites anointed themselves and each other regularly with oil [Ruth 3:3; 2Ch. 28:15; Dan. 10:3; Amos 6:6], and the B’rit Hadashah (Hebrew for New Covenant) directs “ordinary believers” to do this [Mat. 6:17; James 5:14]. You can use anointing oil as a symbol of consecration and dedication, a setting apart for God’s kingdom. You can anoint yourself daily as you pray the armor of God over yourself. Anoint your spouse and children for consecration, protection, and peace as you pronounce a blessing over them.
